Here’s Hello Kitty in front of the Shinjuku Sanrio Gift Gate store — she is huge!
For fun here is a comparison of some of the cellphone charms and reality:
In Odaiba, there is a small scale Statue of Liberty, still quite large. A.k.a. the Goddess of Liberty. :)
Enoshima railway — this is a small railway running from Fujisawa through Enoshima to Kamakura along the coast, where there are beaches and surfing. That’s why she has a surfboard!
And in Kamakura is the Big Buddha, Daibutsu:
That’s a good place for a kitty to rest.

Hello Kitty in Tokyo
June 13th, 2008 by sammo_cat:hellokitty.comHi! Got back from Tokyo, found some nice HK items:
This is my favorite, Pineapple Kitty, which I managed to get from a UFO Catcher machine! At the time I said I was winning it for my wife, but I haven’t handed it over to her yet :)
Also fun are these two goth/punk kitties (h.NAOTO x hello kitty). The one on the right is called h.Blood and the one on the left is called h.Anarchy3. There are many girls in Harajuku dressed similarly:
There are so many different gotochi cell phone charm kitties, it is amazing.
There are gotochis for every place in Japan, foods, outfits, occupations, events…
The official Sanrio store I went to in Shinjuku had plenty of items, but it wasn’t huge. It was easy to find Hello Kitty in souvenir stores, 100 yen stores, and department stores. It was not easy to find other Sanrio characters besides HK herself — just saw MyMelody and Cinnamoroll.
I saw Hello Kitty Precious in the Isetan department store (sorry, no photos) — that had the truly special items — the luggage, the phones, the jewelry, photo chocolates, the tokidoki x hello kitty, and other “x hello kitty” clothing and handbags, limited edition items.
